- Berney the Bear
Berney is one of our Yorkshire Terriers, he turned three in January. He has the cutest face and is such a sweetheart. He is often referred to as Berney Boy, Fat Boy (yes he is a little overweight) and Berney Bear. In case you can’t tell I love my Berney Bear! There is just something about Yorkies that make you fall in love with them. They love you with all their heart, they each have their own little personality, and it just seems one is never enough. Berney loves being in the house, he is not a big fan of grass or any other green stuff for that matter. He will potty on the grass only if you pick him up and put him on it, otherwise he will do his business on the flagstone walking path. Biodegradable poop bags to the rescue! He loves his crate and will go and get in it at night when he is ready to go to bed. He also loves to play. His favorite game is to bring you a toy, you throw it, he goes and gets it, brings it back, shakes it back and forth in his mouth, then drops it or plays tug of war with you. He loves Sigh, our Weimaraner, and most of the time, he considers Gracie, our youngest Yorkie, his arch nemesis. He loves to get on the bed at night and play, however when he is done, he wants down, so he can go get in his crate, and go to bed. Stay tuned for future episodes of Berney the Bear.

our pets, yorkie dogs

one fish, two fish...
Sigh is one of three crazy dogs that Carter and I live with. I’ll introduce the other two later. Sigh was born in August of 2000; she is a Weimaraner, with beautiful eyes and a lovable disposition. Most Weimers are a bit crazy and Sigh is no exception, once she is focused on something it is hard to distract her, however once she moves on to something else, she is all about that. Sigh, true to her Weimaraner nature, loves to hunt anything, including fish! We have a Koi pond, with yes our “pet” Koi and goldfish in it. When we first put in the Koi pond, Sigh would spend at least a couple of hours a day by the pond, just laying around, watching the fish. She was totally focused on those fish, not in an ” I’m going to catch me one of those fish” kind of way, she just appeared mesmerized by them. So we thought. She was however focused on them in that ” I’m going to catch me one of those fish” kind of way, as I found out when I brought them out to go to the potty, I had no more than turned around when I saw Sigh had snagged our biggest Koi “Tinkle” between her teeth. Tinkle was slippery; literally, after all it is a fish with a slime coating and all. Tinkle slipped from between her teeth back into the pond. There was some damage to Tinkles scales, but with some medication placed in the pond, Tinkle made a full recovery

I see them and they are mine!
, thank goodness. And then there was Sigh, the fish hunter! We had to put a fence and gate around the pond, and Sigh has been banished from viewing the fish, except from a distance, with a fence between her and her prey.
